Building a Safety Culture Where Everyone Speaks Up Before Someone Gets Hurt
At Synclusiv, our work has always been grounded in a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to feel safe at work, regardless of their obvious or non-obvious differences.
Over the years, we've seen firsthand how the human side of workplace culture directly impacts safety, performance, and trust. When people feel respected, included, and psychologically safe, they're more willing to share concerns, raise risks, report mistakes, and contribute ideas. When they don't feel safe, they often stay silent at precisely the moments when speaking up matters most.
That's why we’re excited to invite you to a special online learning experience on October 28 hosted by Feel Safe Leaders.
A Mission We Deeply Believe In
We have had the privilege of working closely with Feel Safe Leaders since its inception. We believe deeply in the mission of helping organizations create workplaces where every person, regardless of visible or invisible differences, feels safe enough to contribute fully.
We have also been fortunate to help guide the development of both the core Safety Without Exception® workshops and the new online learning experiences being offered through Feel Safe Leaders. Together, these programs address what many organizations are missing: the connection between psychological safety, inclusion, and physical safety.
On October 28, Nicole Piggott, President and Founder of Synclusiv, will be co-presenting with Jerry Pignolet, Co-Founder and CEO of Feel Safe Leaders, to deliver:
Speak Up! Building a Safety Culture Where Everyone Speaks Up Before Someone Gets Hurt
Traditional safety programs focus on procedures, compliance, and reporting systems. Yet many employees still hesitate to raise concerns because they fear judgment, blame, exclusion, or retaliation.
This interactive half-day program explores how leaders can create environments where employees feel safe speaking up about hazards, safety concerns, near misses, injuries, mistakes, and improvement opportunities before they become serious incidents. The program focuses on the critical relationship between psychological safety and physical safety and provides practical tools leaders can apply immediately.
Participants Will Learn How To:
- Create a workplace culture where people feel safe speaking up
- Understand the connection between psychological safety and physical safety
- Build trust across teams with diverse visible and invisible differences
- Recognize leadership behaviors that unintentionally silence employees
- Encourage accountability without blame
- Improve communication around safety, risk, and operational concerns
- Strengthen both workplace safety and organizational performance
Why This Matters
Research and workplace experience consistently show that organizations become safer when employees are willing to speak up about risks and concerns. Yet many workers remain reluctant to do so. Feel Safe Leaders was created specifically to address this human gap in workplace safety through inclusive leadership and psychological safety practices.
Creating a true speak-up culture is not just about preventing injuries. It's about creating a workplace where people feel respected, valued, and empowered to contribute their best thinking every day.
