Finding Clarity in Chaos: A Mid-Year Reflection
As we reach the midpoint of 2025, it’s fair to say: it’s been a lot.
The first half of this year has felt like navigating quicksand—geo-political unrest, economic uncertainty, and seismic social shifts have left many of us feeling unmoored. It’s easy to feel like we’ve lost our footing. But amid the turbulence, something powerful is happening: people and organizations are pausing, reflecting, and gaining clarity about what truly matters.
We’re seeing a renewed focus on values—not just as abstract ideals, but as guiding principles that shape priorities, interactions, partnerships, and relationships. And at the heart of this clarity is inclusion.
The evidence continues to affirm what we at Synclusiv have always believed: inclusion is not just a moral imperative—it’s a strategic one. Inclusive environments foster better decision-making, stronger relationships, higher engagement, greater creativity, and deeper trust. They make us safer, more resilient, and more human.
Yet, we must also acknowledge a paradox: while inclusion is meant to bring people in, it can sometimes make others feel left out. This tension has surfaced in many of our conversations over the past months. Some feel that the push for inclusion is an indictment of the past, or that correcting historical injustices comes at the cost of their own identity, prospects, or future.
It’s a difficult, but necessary, conversation.
We must recognize that when privilege has been the norm for millennia, even a small shift can feel like a seismic loss. But the goal is not to replace one form of privilege with another. It’s to create a world where everyone shares in the privilege of being seen, heard, and valued—of being part of humanity.
That means bringing everyone into the conversation, including those who feel displaced by change. If we don’t, we risk repeating the very patterns of exclusion we seek to dismantle.
At Synclusiv, we believe in a future that includes all of us. You are welcome here. Your voice matters. And together, we can build a world where inclusion is not a zero-sum game, but a shared journey toward something better.
Let’s keep walking that path—together.
Warm regards, Nicole Piggott, President, Synclusiv
