DISRUPTING BIAS WORKSHOPS

Understanding why diversity, equity, and inclusion offer the solution that workplaces need in a shifting economic landscape – The diversity dividend. Synclusiv’s Disrupting Bias program is designed to facilitate the transformation of workplace cultures to become more inclusive by exploring the role of individuals, teams, and systems in inclusive work cultures.

MODULE 1: UNDERSTANDING BIAS IN THE WORKPLACE

In becoming a more inclusive leader or colleague, this module provides insight into what biases are, how they influence us, and tools to help mitigate the impacts of biases on our behaviours and decisions.

To be more inclusive and attract more diverse team members, staff and employees – being aware of and understanding our biases will build the foundation for a more inclusive workplace.

You will gain an understanding of:

  • Several fundamental elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • What biases are and why they exist;
  • The types of unconscious biases that influence us in the workplace;
  • Core strategies to help achieve inclusive outcomes;
  • How to navigate uncomfortable situations where biases are observed.

MODULE 2: CHARTING A PATH TO INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP

This workshop provides insights into the role that social norms and perceptions play in developing our biases and the specific competencies we have to achieve inclusive decisions and outcomes.

Leaders will appreciate their role in creating inclusive cultures and how to better lead diverse teams.

You will gain an understanding of:

  • The impact of perceptions on behavior.
  • The role social norms play in our perception of ourselves and others.
  • The impacts biases have on social norms.
  • Their own potential for inclusivity.

MODULE 3: DECONSTRUCTING BIAS IN SYSTEMS

This workshop explores the impact of systems on inclusiveness and unpacks solutions adapted to each process to mitigate bias. 

You will gain an understanding of what needs to change in the following areas to establish and sustain inclusion, equity and diversity: 

  • Recruitment 
  • Performance and talent management 
  • Compensation 
  • Leadership development 
  • Marketing and communications 
  • Procurement perspective
